The expert panel emphasizes the shift in cyber hacking from stealing industry secrets from private business to the direct hacking of systems that shut them down for ransom. This makes all public services vulnerable from hospitals, to elections, to electricity grids. Ransomware changes rapidly and has added a new urgency to cyber security. Now "the internet of things" that is so popular to improve the quality of life has ramped up the issue. What do we need to do?
